Family and community members joined us on the 29th of May to remember our beloved Ernie in a relaxed, informal setting.  We laughed and we wept as we shared fond memories of Ernie with one another.  And as we gave thanks for his life and for how Jesus Christ had touched him.  Following the meeting there was a community BBQ with free burgers and hot dogs for all, just the way Ernie would have wanted it!  Please see pictures below.

(Click here for a map of the route traveled.)

Human Trafficking Awareness Night (28 Nov 2013)

The Hope Centre hosted a human trafficking awareness night on the evening of 28 November.  The evening included a presentation from representatives of North Down ACT (Active Communities against Trafficking).  We are keen to draw awareness to just how prevalent human trafficking is in Northern Ireland, and the people from ACT are experts in advising us all how we can make a difference.  The first step is awareness, and so few of us are really aware what is going on in our own neighborhoods!  Many members of the community joined us for what was a real eye opener.  On a lighter note, we also had free mulled wine and shortbread, and Christmas crafts on sale. The proceeds went towards North Down ACT.  (Download a flyer here.)
